Robert M. Cohen
Bob Cohen is Of Counsel at Wendelstein Law Group. He previously served as the primary attorney for the firm in its capacity as General Counsel for the Calleguas Municipal Water District and the Montecito Water District.
Bob has been practicing law since 1983 and has been involved in various phases of general practice with an emphasis in civil litigation. He has represented many public entities in his career including the County of Ventura, the City of Santa Ana and San Diego State University.
Through the Association of California Water Agencies Joint Powers Insurance Agency, Bob has litigated cases for dozens of California water agencies, including water districts in Santa Barbara, Ventura, Los Angeles, Riverside, Orange, San Bernardino and San Diego Counties.
Bob has practiced in a broad variety of areas of the law, including insurance defense, both property and casualty, contract, employment and business litigation, representation of design professionals, and issues of toxic torts and environmental law.
Bob is licensed to practice law before all courts of the State of California as well as in the United States District Court, Central District of California. He is a member of the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel, the American Bar Association and the Association of Engineering Geologists.
Professionally, Bob involves himself in graduate studies, moot courts, seminars, public speaking at UCLA and Pepperdine University, and provides continuing education of the bar emphasizing environmental law. Bob is a member of the Santa Rosa Site Council and is a PARMA lecturer.
Bob graduated with honors from California State University Northridge with BA in Speech Communication and obtained Juris Doctor from the Whittier College School of Law.
Bob grew up in Northridge California but has lived with his wife Sylvia in the Santa Rosa Valley for many years. Sylvia has taught Special Education in the Conejo Valley Unified School District for several years. Bob and Sylvia have two sons, one pursuing his PhD at USC and the other works for the Calleguas Municipal Water District.
